Welcome Claudia Lyckler, new SACC-NE Intern!

Upon completing her bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics at Lund University Claudia wanted to expand her horizon by moving to Boston for work.  Starting this august, Claudia joined the SACC-NE operational team as our Member Services and Community Associate.

Could you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

I grew up in the peninsula Onsala, which is located on the west coast of Sweden. Ever since I was little I have loved to play soccer. When I realized I wasn’t going to be a professional soccer-player, I leaned into business instead. This year I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics from Lund University. Besides soccer, a great interest of mine has been to travel and see new cultures, which made me take a two year break after high school to work as a guide abroad, before continuing my studies. After three years in Lund I wanted to yet again experience new environments, which led me to join SACC-NE.

What do you hope to accomplish as an intern with SACC-NE

One thing I am very interested in today's working life is how business differs within different cultures. Is there any differences in how to talk business in the U.S compared to Sweden? Of course it is! This is what I hope to learn during my time at SACC-NE since I have always seen myself working within an international company. As well as broaden my international network.

Why did you aspire to do an internship in Boston?

Prior to coming here I had never been to America before, which was the main reason why I wanted to join the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce. Boston was appealing to me because of how international it is, like the many tech-companies founded and located here. Overall, it’s an inspiring environment.
