Thank you for three amazing years!

Dear friends and SACC-NE network,

It’s with mixed emotions I am writing to let you know that yesterday was my last day as President of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce New England, a position I’ve had for the past three years. I am staying in Boston until the end of the year when our family is moving back to Sweden, so you might still see me at some upcoming SACC-NE events. For now, I will be on parental leave enjoying time with my growing family. Boston has been our home for the past five years and although I am sad to leave SACC-NE and eventually Boston, I am excited about all the new opportunities ahead and to find out what the future holds for me back in Sweden, especially Gothenburg, again.

A big thank you to Anki Lund, Chair of the Board at SACC-NE, and all Board Directors who decided to give me this amazing opportunity three years ago. Your support, guidance, and knowledge sharing have been invaluable to me. During my time at SACC-NE, I’ve had the pleasure of working with several amazing interns, team members, and volunteers, meeting fantastic and inspiring people through memberships and strategic partnerships, and I’ve learned and developed more than I ever expected. Boston and its ecosystem are truly unique and I feel very fortunate to have been part of it and been able to learn from it.

Managing a small business during a pandemic has certainly had its challenges, but I am so proud of what SACC-NE as a team has accomplished during my time as President. We had an almost 3-fold net profit increase. Built new, strong, and long-term relationships with both corporate members and strategic partners. Increased our digital presence, including starting our own podcast: SACC-NE Sessions. Successfully transitioning from in-person activities and events to virtual ones, including hosting virtual visits to Boston. Released a member-only digital platform. Increased our team with more interns and volunteers. Just to name a few things. It’s truly been a team effort!

Don’t be strangers - feel free to reach out via LinkedIn or email (sandra.spetz@gmail.com) if I can be of assistance to you in the future or if you would like to connect over future opportunities in Gothenburg. Perhaps you are looking for a new team member next year? ;)

Now to the best part: I am excited to announce that as of today, Magdalena Huber is the new President of SACC-NE. The whole SACC-NE team is very excited about this recruitment and I am certain that the chamber will accomplish many great things under her leadership. Magdalena has a background as an international tax lawyer, working a lot with international entrepreneurs and helping them to relocate and expand their business in new markets.

Thank you all for your support!

Cheers,

Sandra
