Introducing Magdalena Huber: New SACC-NE President

We would like to take the opportunity to introduce the new SACC-NE President, Magdalena Huber. We are so excited to welcome her to our team and we look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together.

Magdalena started her position at the chamber on June 1st. Originally from Skåne in the south of Sweden but before moving to Boston 1,5 years ago, she lived in Stockholm. She has been working as a tax lawyer for 15 years, working with international tax law and entrepreneurs at both law firms and consulting firms, and is passionate about helping people and businesses to connect and grow in a new market.

What brought you to Boston?

My husband got a job offer and we thought it would be a nice and fun adventure for the whole family. I had never been to Boston before but heard a lot about it and the high academic level and its leading position in many different areas made it attractive for us.

What made you want to join SACC-NE?

I have a background as an international tax lawyer, working a lot with international entrepreneurs and helping them to relocate and to expand their business in new markets. I can use my experience but from a different angle by connecting people and business.

How will you contribute to the team?

I get inspired by building bridges between people and business, as I strongly believe in a big network to reach out to a bigger market and I will do my best to connect both new members and our existing members to make sure our members will get as much value as possible and to see them grow and making new business. As we are getting out of the pandemic I think the time for scaling up has come and I can’t wait to start the work with the team and to continue the great work the former President Sandra Spetz has done.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

I have three kids ages six to twelve and the three of them have a lot of activities so in the afternoons you will probably find me driving back and forth to all these activities. I am still surprised about all the driving here, it is very different from Sweden! Otherwise, I spend some time at the gym, I joined OrangeTheory and I am hooked! I also love traveling and exploring new places and in the winter skiing is my number one! But I don’t have to go far, I love strolling around in Boston and every Sunday we try to get in to the city with the family to have Sunday dinner in a nice restaurant which is a very nice way to get to know the city.

Feel free to connect with Magdalena on LinkedIn or by emailing magdalena.huber@saccne.org and make her feel welcome in the SACC-NE community!
