We interviewed Jasmin Utter, Head of Sales Region America at SAS, to find out more about their work in Boston and what they look forward to with their new membership.
Hi Jasmin - welcome to SACC-NE. Please introduce yourself, SAS, and your work in Boston!
Thank you! And thank you for making it possible for SAS to be part of this chamber. I have worked for SAS for a long time, more than 30 years. Currently I am responsible for SAS in North America. Previous postings in SAS have included jobs in Brussels, Belgium and London, UK, in addition to our head office in Stockholm. As for SAS, we have been present in the US since 1946 and we opened up our service to Boston a few years ago. Although the route was discontinued during the pandemic, we were able to restart and we are now flying six weekly departures.
How would you describe your company culture?
International, fast paced, ever changing, inclusive, and sustainable.
What is the best part of being an employee at SAS?
Being in an international environment with colleagues and customers from many parts of the world. But most of all, being able to make a positive difference and contribution in people’s lives is very rewarding.
Where do you see SAS in 5 years?
The travel industry in general and most certainly the airline industry, has had to adapt quite dramatically during the pandemic. We are currently transforming our business and I expect to see that in 5 years, SAS will be even a more competitive player in the global airline industry.
Why did you join SACC-NE and what are you looking forward to as a member?
Boston and Massachusetts are important to SAS and there are many companies established in this area with close ties to Scandinavia and Northern Europe. I hope to be part of building that collaboration between this part of the US and Scandinavia. I look forward to being able to interact with other members in this region to share information and insights, and also to highlight the benefits of choosing SAS when flying between the US and Scandinavia.

I am very excited that we will be able to offer year-around services from Boston for the first time!
