Introducing Johanna Englund from the SACC-NE S&YP operational team
/Johanna came to the US in 2016 to play soccer in college and earn her degree in Marketing. After her undergraduate degree she moved to Boston to advance her knowledge in Marketing by getting a Master's in Global Marketing from Suffolk University. She currently resides in Springfield, MA temporarily, while actively looking for a job opportunity in the Boston area. She has multiple different experiences of working at the Swedish Postal Service, Manufacturing plant, and most recently as an analyst for a Swedish founded software company. Johanna is a volunteer for the Student & Young Professional network, and she hopes, with her many years of living in the US, to contribute to attracting more people with Swedish ties/connections in the area to help, support, and offer useful networking opportunities for them.
What made you want to join SACC-NE?
After pursuing a college degree in the US, I decided to stay and aim for a career here. I found out about, and joined SACC-NE when I was searching for a job opportunity in the Boston area. I joined SACC-NE because it brings a little piece of home to me while living abroad. And, I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to broaden my network with Swedish related businesses and people in the US.
How will you contribute to the team?
I will contribute to the team with my drive to connect with new people and establish new relationships, spread the knowledge about SACC-NE and what we do, as well as always being there for the community to help in any way I can.
Where do you see yourself in the future?
I see myself working at a global Swedish company in the US, preferably in the Boston area with something related to sustainability/environment. I would take a lot pride working for a Swedish company abroad that strive for global sustainability.
What do you like to do when you are not working?
I’m currently job searching, but when I don’t do that or work, I like to stay active, hangout with friends and family, and travel/explore new things. I played soccer and other sports for many years, including in college, but now I mostly play golf and tennis.
